Many have described sex as mind-blowing, but for one woman it was mind-erasing.
The Daily Mail reports that a 59-year-old American woman known only as Alice suffered a bout of TGA, or transient global amnesia, which caused her to forget that she had sex with her husband.
TGA is a temporary episode of memory loss that occurs during strenuous activities, like sex, exercising, or jumping into icy cold or very hot water.

Research at the universities of Liverpool and Oxford into the finger length of primate species has revealed that cooperative behavior is linked to exposure to hormone levels in the womb.
The hormones, called androgens, are important in the development of masculine characteristics such as aggression and strength.
It is also thought that prenatal androgens affect finger length during development in the womb.

Sex for pleasure may not seem revolutionary until you apply the idea to other species.
Other creatures appear to be having sex for much more than procreation, with each newly discovered sex act further firing up the "what's natural" sexual debate.
Dirty, naked, animal, grunting sex can have you feeling like you're one with nature.

President Pratibha Patil today expressed concern over the growing practice of female foeticide, saying it would damage the male-female ratio in the country and disturb social fabric.
Inaugurating the International Arya Mahasammelan here, she said, "Elimination of female foetus will not only lead to male-female imbalance but also disturb social equilibrium."
The President also termed child marriage as a "curse" and said early motherhood would adversely affect the health of women.

In the world of fiddler crabs, the best form of protection for females is, apparently, having sex with the neighbors, according to an Australian study published Wednesday.
Researchers from The Australian National University in Canberra found male fiddler crabs will happily defend a nearby female against intruders — partly because the females will dole out sex in return.
"The fact that the neighbor comes over and helps to defend another territorial individual is pretty unusual," said Michael Jennions,

IT IS a scenario most parents will recognise.
As little Max engineers a truck pile-up, while studiously avoiding his sister's Barbie tea party, his mother shrugs and says it must be innate - this boy was born to hoon.
I have lost track of the number of times I have heard such statements, or the female equivalent: that girls were born with a pink gene.
The new focus on nature seems to be encouraging parents to indulge sex differences even more avidly -Lise Eliot

A recent letter to the editor made a plea for a better sex column.
In response, the writers of "Celebrating Sex" acknowledged that they transmit "admittedly light-hearted musings on an important subject," adding that there are numerous organizations on campus which address the more serious aspects of sex.
While I thank the writers for being so forthcoming with their goals and agenda for "Celebrating Sex," I must admit I am still dissatisfied with the column.
